We offer a family membership at KCCL and are open 5 days a week. We offer Skeet, Trap, 5-Stand, Sporting Clays, Rifle Range and Pistol Range –

The Rifle Range has berms at 50, 100, 200, 300 yds with 24 covered benches.  New steel targets available for fun shooting.

The Pistol  is 7 yds, 15 yds, 25 yds, and 50 yds with 15 covered benches which is perfect for evening shooting. It is covered and lit for night shooting. New steel targets are available now.

The skeet, trap and 5-Stand fields are good for day or night shooting.

Multiple shooting leagues are held throughout the year. You are able to bring guests with you to shoot. We have ammo available for purchase at the club with a well stocked pro shop. Special orders are not a problem.

Shotgun Rules

  1. Anyone under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult.
  2. Eye and ear protection is always required. Bystanders observing the shooters must also wear eye and ear protection.
  3. All guns must be unloaded, and actions kept open until you are in the shooting box, and it is your turn to shoot.
  4. For Skeet, 5-Stand and Sporting Clays only 2 rounds maximum in the gun at any time, even if your gun holds more. For Trap only one round in the gun at any time, unless you are shooting Doubles Trap or a similar game, then only two rounds maximum.
  5. Only one shell may be loaded on Station 8 skeet, and the barrel may not go past 90 degrees.
  6. When loading or unloading muzzles must be pointed down range. For 5-Stand and Sporting Clays the muzzle must be pointed down range and over the front rail of the shooting stand—not sideways or up in the air.
  7. When moving from station to station all actions must be open and gun unloaded. Pump action and semi autos must have the action open and visible away from your body to make it visible to other shooters. Break open, SxS or over/under, must be broken open and preferably carried over the shoulder with the barrel to the front of your body, pointing down, and butt stock to the rear.
  8. Shot sizes are limited to 7 1/2, 8 and 9 only.
  9. Only lead shot allowed on the patterning board to prevent damage to the patterning board plate and persons. NO STEEL OR HARDENED SHOT i.e., TUNGSTEN Etc.–EVER!
  10. If a shell fails to fire, wait at least 30 seconds before opening the action in case of a hang fire.
  11. If a shell has a “funny” sound or the shell had no powder and only the primer fires, drop the wad removal rod down the barrels and visually inspect to make sure there is nothing in the barrels.
  12. If the muzzle should get dropped to the ground or in the snow, clear the barrels of all debris and visually inspect before firing to prevent damage to equipment and injury to yourself and bystanders from a ruptured barrel.
  13. Do not allow ejected shells from a break barrel gun fly, stop them with your hand and deposit them into the provided trash container. Also, pick up any spent hulls from all guns, including pumps and semi autos and deposit them into the trash.
  14. Be considerate to others, keep your squad moving to free up fields and stations.

Club pullers are also safety personnel, they have final say if unsafe actions are observed.

Rifle and Pistol Range Rules

  1. Anyone under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult.
  2. Eye and ear protection is always required. Bystanders observing the shooters must also wear eye and ear protection.
  3. Treat every gun as though it is loaded
  4. Always keep your gun pointed in a safe direction.
  5. Keep your finger off the trigger and keep the safety on until you are on target and ready to fire.
  6. Know your target, backstop and what is beyond your target.
  7. When loading or unloading, the muzzle must be pointed down range. For 5- Stand and Sporting Clays, the muzzle must be pointed down range and over the front rail of the shooting stand—not sideways or up in the air.
  8. In preparation for a cold range, you must unload your firearm, remove the magazine, open the chamber and place the firearm flat on the table facing downrange with a flag in the empty chamber, then step away from the bench, do not touch your firearm. The range will now be declared cold.  Wait until the range has been declared hot again to shoot.
  9. A cease fire can be called by anyone at any time. Cease firing and proceed as though the range is cold.
  10. Your pistol or rifle should only be transported completely unloaded with the action open. It should only be uncased when the firearm is facing safely downrange.
  11. If a shell fails to fire, wait at least 30 seconds before opening the action in case of a hang fire.
  12. NO TRACER OR STEEL TIP AMMO OF ANY KIND IS ALLOWED. NO GREEN TIP AMMO IS ALLOWED.
  13. The pistol range is limited to 1400 feet per second. This means only straight sided cartridgesNo necked down cartridges.
  14. Shoot only at targets. Do not shoot at rocks or support structures.
  15. No rapid firing.

 

ALL CLUB MEMBERS ARE TO PICK UP SPENT BRASS AND PLACE IT INTO THE BASKETS PROVIDED.
